Staying at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun during covid…ooh la la!

Traveling and staying in a hotel during covid or any pandemic can be questionable and it sure was for me, but I did it and it is 100% possible!

As soon as you set foot at the Hyatt Ziva resort, you are welcomed by the doormen and you have to step on a sanitation mat before walking into the hotel. The bellmen also take your luggage to sanitize it and take up to your room.

All the hotel staff are wearing masks, glasses as a shield and gloves, wiping everything down after being used by someone….all day, every single minute of the day. This made me feel assured that they were practicing social distancing and just basically being clean and aware of sanitation.

We were walked to our check in area, social distancing was practiced by staff and us and given all the information we would need to know during our stay.

The hotel is immaculate. Clean, clean, clean. Sanitized from top to bottom. I honestly did not have to even think twice if something was clean or sanitized before I was there, you see it happening it and are completely rest assured so you can enjoy your stay. They even put signs letting you know its been sanitized.

Once we got to our room, there was a seal we had to break letting us know that the room was sanitized for us. Everything was again, immaculately clean! The remote control to bathroom amenities were in plastic bags and there was an ipad to use for no contact communication with the hotel from room service, booking spa visits and knowing which restaurants are open, etc.

All around the hotel, there are social distancing signs, hand sanitizer and sanitation mats before entering any place, restaurant in the hotel.

Even at the pool, the towels are wrapped in plastic after they have been cleaned and santized so no one else touches them, except you.

When you are served food, beverages or cocktails you have to take it off the tray. They also have a buffet that is open, the only thing that is different is they serve you anything you want from behind the counter…all part of their sanitation protocols. Which is totally fine by me!

The staff is absolutely amazing and they all made us feel welcome and relaxed. They were also so happy to have visitors and look forward to seeing us again soon.

All in all, I did not and would not hesitate staying at the Hyatt Ziva at all!
