Why you need to understand your emotions…

When someone asks you “How are you feeling today?”

Many answer with a one word response. When we do that, do people really understand how we’re feeling?

Do you understand why you’re feeling “bad”?

What’s the reason?

When we take a step back and think about the reasons we are feeling a certain way, we can understand why and then do something to get back to feeling happy.

For example: if you’re feeling angry, think about why you’re feeling angry?

Could it be because you’re feeling overwhelmed, disappointed, hurt, or betrayed?

When you figure that out, think about what made you get to that point. Once you know, then think about how you can avoid feeling overwhelmed, disappointed, etc….whatever it is. It could be setting a boundary, telling someone how that made you feel, change your routine, give yourself more time to prepare…again, whatever it is.

Then remember to avoid or make a change so you don’t get angry again.

If your happy, then keep doing what you’re doing!

It’s like a trickle down effect.

Once you understand the emotion you’re feeling, it will help you get to your happy place.
