It’s easy to look elsewhere for acknowledgement or for your own happiness but you don’t need to do that. From this moment on, please look for it within yourself because you are responsible for your own happiness and getting to where you want to be!
Yes, other people can cheer you on, acknowledge how you’re doing, or say things that make you feel good about yourself but what’s most important is what YOU think of yourself. Yes, it’s great to hear when people say good things about you, your progress and you get acknowledgement, but take that as just an added bonus of everything you have already told yourself.
What you tell yourself is important and YOU can build yourself up. You don’t need anyone else to do that. When you give that responsibility to other people, it’s out of your hands, you have other people deciding your happiness and life, why do that? What other people may want may not be the same what you want. YOU want to be in control of your own life and happiness.
Think about this for a moment, what happens when you don’t have family, or someone close to you, a partner or friend? If no one is cheering you on, acknowledging what an amazing day you had, accomplishing your goals, losing weight, making it to the gym every week, eat healthy, moving forward, getting a promotion, I can go on and on with the amount of positive things that happen to us all. If you are waiting to hear from someone else that you’re doing a great job, that may not come. That’s why it’s important to be proud of yourself and cheer yourself on first. Happiness comes from within and when you are putting in the work, you deserve to be proud of your efforts.
So remember, it’s OK to not have someone cheering you on! You got you and you will always be by your side!
Learn to acknowledge yourself by being proud of every little or big thing you do, accomplish or make.
Learn to pat yourself on the back and say “I did this!” “ I can do this!” “I’m going to do it!” “Good job” “I knew I could do it” Today was a great day” “I’m so proud of myself” “I made it” “I’m not giving up” “I won’t let anyone bring me down”.
Learn to do things for yourself so when you have completed something, then you can be like “I did this! Yes!!”
Find out how to move forward on your own whether it be by googling it, reading professional development books, or asking for help.
Take action on your own towards the goals and life you want.
Don’t leave this up to anyone else but yourself.
You are in control.
You are powerful.
You don’t need anyone to acknowledge what you’re doing.
You are your own cheerleader and will get yourself there.
Start today by reflecting on what you have done today that you did for yourself, towards your own happiness or towards your own goals.
Next time you’re on the bike, treadmill, gym cheer yourself on and tell yourself you’re not giving up.
Next time you checked something off your list, or accomplished something you didn’t think you could, be proud of yourself.
Be proud of yourself, everyday!
